There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven:

A time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot, a time to kill and a time to heal, a time to tear down and a time to build, a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance, a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them, a time to embrace and a time to refrain, a time to search and a time to give up, a time to keep and a time to throw away, a time to tear and a time to mend, a time to be silent and a time to speak, a time to love and a time to hate, a time for war and a time for peace.

The inspiration for "Ecclesiastes 3:1-8" came directly from the Bible passage. Every season is depicted by each person's body language. the first couple represents a time to be born, plant, build, embrace, and to love. The next two men represent a time to kill, tear down, tear, hate and for war. The woman in blue represents a time to gather, and to keep. The next woman represents a time to give up, weep, and to mourn. The lady in red is a time to dance and laugh. The next two men represent a broken man and a unbroken man offering friendship to represent a time to heal, mend and peace. The woman on the ground represents a time to be silent and a time to die. There are stones scattered on the ground. This was probably the only painting in which I saw in my mind what it should look like in detail before beginning to paint.
